Test of Aclima WoolNet shirt

12. February 2017 By Bjarke Rosenbeck Leave a Comment

test of Aclima woolnet shirtWarning! This shirt will transform you into a cross between a sex-monster, a superhero and a drunk on a park bench. So feel free to pick a choice among these stereotypes.

Nevertheless, behind its kinky exterior is a product, which can be used in virtually any climate and with a wide application for outdoor enthusiasts, runners and cyclists.

Aclima WoolNet is the name of a fairly new series of technical wool base-layers, with a grid pattern design, which you might have seen in Brynjes synthetic base-layers for years. The combination of a highly technical product, and the simple effect the air pockets provides with its flexible temperature adjustments, creates a highly usable and versatile product. [Read more…]

Test of Petzl Nao

29. July 2014 By Bjarke Rosenbeck 1 Comment

petzl nao 2012-1

I have been running in the woods, among thick trees and with a map in my hand to test this headlamp. I have been standing still, pointing the light at a thick tree trunk and then into the woods and repeated the exercise. I have been staring at the map without being blinded, then into the woods, and back on the map. Each time, the lamp regulates the brightness, so I have no trouble reading the map; see the details of the cortex, or the trail.

This is exactly what the Petzl NAO does, it adjusts the brightness of the light depending on what you are looking at, and it does it well! [Read more…]

Test of Yeti Passion three sleeping bag

29. July 2014 By Bjarke Rosenbeck Leave a Comment

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIf you design a sleeping bag based on the criteria to use light, quality materials and have the know-how to put it all together, you end up with a product which will thrill outdoor enthusiast around the globe.

That’s my impression of the Passion sleeping-bags from German producer Yeti.

It was love at first sight and after spending several nights with (in) this beauty, it proved to be love that lasts. You have been warned, the sleeping bags are both exclusive and expensive, don’t try it unless you are willing to go all the way! [Read more…]

Test of Rab Stretch Neo Jacket

28. July 2014 By Bjarke Rosenbeck Leave a Comment

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Rab Stretch Neo Jacket is yet another tribute to NeoShell as a material. Rab have used fabric from Polartec to create a super functional jacket with a traditional design.

You will not get any revolutionary details with the Rab Stretch Neo Jacket, but you won’t miss them either. In short, it’s a classic and extremely versatile all weather jacket, without any serious flaws. The jacket has a classical Rab design, where functionality comes first, this is the red line in all Rab products.

The Rab Stretch Neo is not only a work jacket, but also a jacket that fits well for everyday use. I certainly don’t feel like a climber who just fell down from Mt. Everest if I choose to wear this jacket to the office. [Read more…]

Inov-8 F-lite 195

27. July 2014 By Bjarke Rosenbeck Leave a Comment

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This shoe can be a bit of everything and does it incredibly well.

That is my short summary of Inov-8 f-lite 195. A shoe I so far have enjoyed for runs on asphalt and on the trails, as a casual shoe and a shoe for hiking. Inov-8 even emphasize that the f-lite 195 can be used as a fitness-shoe (e.g. for Crossfit). All these possibilities amaze and confuse me, simultaneously. Because it is such a versatile and performing shoe, the Inov-8 f-lite gets my warmest recommendations and it is a good candidate for a gear of the year award. [Read more…]
